Never seen this explained before and I thought they were welded closed?! Would really like to know. TIA!:D

I took the cat off, used a very long screw driver combined with a 3lb. sledgehammer and busted everything up inside it, some chunks came out big, others came out small, but it all came out after a while.

Of course, this is only a race car and I NEVER drive it on the street! ;)

Hammer, lug wrench, and a big wastebasket.

If it takes you over 2 minutes you are slow.

Compressed air to blow it out clean.

Put it back on and lower your boost 3 psi. or so, to be safe. :)

I don't drive my GN a lot and when I pulled the cat this weekend I got doused in nice rusty water. This is after I had gutted it last weekend. It does get up to operating temps when I do take it out. Others can comment on the intelligence of drilling a small drain hole in the cat to let the water run out. Just a thought.
