My motor is stock, never been reubuilt. Tranny is stock too. Would it be a bad idea to dyno my engine (just for kicks)? I know that i don't make much power, but it sounds like fun none the less. How long does it stress the high-RPM ranges? Thanks.

Most dynos have less load than your car would getting just flooring it on the road. In fact the one I went to didn't have enough load for me to maintain max boost.

Dyno is much easier on parts. You only flog it in 3rd gear, and you don't do a burn out. Plus, I agree that there is less load. The dyno measures how fast your car can "spool up" the rollers. My EGT's were 150 degrees cooler on the dyno.
