How long for TCC to lock up?

When I lock up my converter manually, it takes exactly 5 seconds bofore I hear the RPM's drop. When I unlock it, it's immediate.

Is this normal? This is under normal cruise speeds.

My manual lock-up is immediate. Sounds like a faulty TCC solenoid. I installed a 700R4 solenoid as recommended by Bruce at PTS. Mine was listed for an `88 IROC Camaro.

The solenoid is new and is a 700R4 unit from Mike Kurtz.
