Does anyone have a good guess of how many GN's are left? I usually say 25k because there were only 35k made. Any ideas?

That is a POKE in the dark answer.. When I lived in Mass they were the one of the most stolen cars in the late 80's along with Monte SS's.. Until the rice cars took the top spots..

I am going to say maybe 1/2 to 2/3rds possibly left.
Leaning myself to more under 1/2.

35k?? Where are u getting that from?
84-2k
85-2k an some change
86-5k an some change
87-20-21k or close to it........isnt that right? I've gotta think there's still a good deal left, some are just stuck in garages collecting dust. Or people dont have time to drive them, (like me). Up until a few weeks ago, i only saw one GN in my area. In the last month I've seen probably ten, all different drivers...an all nicer looking than mine:o.

If we're talking JUST GN's, not TR's as a whole, here are the #'s produced by year:
1982- 215 (only 16 believed to be turbocharged)
1984- 2000
1985- 2102
1986- 5512
1987- 20,193

With all the other TR's in the mix, the total # of turbo cars for each year are as follows:
1983- 3732
1984- 5204
1985- 4204
1986- 7896
1987- 27590

Rarest GN- 1982- only 215 produced
Rarest Turbo GN- 1984- only 2000 produced
Rarest Turbo Regal(non GNX)- 1987 Regal Limited- only 1035 produced
2nd Rarest TR(non GNX)- 1987 WE4 Turbo T only 1547 produced

Quickest stock TR- 1987 GNX
Quickest stock non GNX TR- 1987 WE4 Turbo T
Quickest stock GN-1987

As to how many are actually left.....Who knows. My head starts to hurt when I think about things like that.

All the above info was from gnttype.org

I would agree that as far as Grand Nationals are concerned I'd venture to say 1/2 or less are left. I believe a good many were wrecked, stolen or simply beat to **** and parted out before people realized they were something special.
