How much boost?

Just looking for a little info here. My car is mostly stock. The only things I've done so far are a Walbro 340 hotwired, adjustable fuel pressure regulator, and an adjustable wastegate. The car is tuned in perfectly and I run Sunoco 94 all the time and was looking to get a ballpark figure as to how much boost I could currently run. I'm definitely going to turn up the boost slow (about a # at a time) to see how the car reacts, just looking to get a round-about number. Yes, I have a scan tool, an aftermarket boost and knock gauge. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

More mods soon to come.................what would you suggest be next? Chip, exhaust, or alchy?

15-17# to start on 94 octane with a street chip. Watch the knock carefully.


I would go for a good aftermarket chip next. Do a search for chips in the chip section for many reccomendations.

I don't have many mods either, and I run 15#s with little to no knock. I agree with the 15-17 quote, thats what I was always told.

Alchy+100 octane chip would be my vote. Maybe someone else can answer this but I dont know how much hp you will gain from an exhaust without a dp as well. Either way the Alcy is good from here on out as you add more stuff. Cant go wrong there.

An exhaust is necessary eventually but not now. Get rid of the cat with a test pipe and get alky/chip, best bangs for the buck you will ever find on any car.
