..if you had a turbo that was burning a little bit of oil?

And suppose the plugs were pretty clean.
 
Zero if the clearances aren't out and there is no problem with the tune
 
Thanks. Just wondering because I believe my turbo is letting some oil by which creates a little bit of a smoke show....wasn't sure if that hurts performance any.
 
The oil could getting by for reasons other than the turbo. There is no positive seal in a dynamic thrust assembly turbo on the compressor side and the ex side is just a piston ring style seal which seals exhaust out and doesn't really seal oil at all. Both compressor and ex sides rely on oil slinging and gravity to prevent leakage into the air induction and exhaust. Any back flow from restricted return lines or high crankcase pressure will cause oil to enter areas it shouldn't. It's possible the bearing housing is worn excessively which can cause excess oil flow which may cause smoking. It's also common for the exhaust side slinger to be carboned up where it won't work as effectively.
