Buick Beginner:
I was at Earle Weapons Station during Mr. Clinton's terms. At the end of Desert Storm and the beginning of Clintons 1st term there were Marines at the gates and on patrol. Some badazz weaps left and so did the Marines. Then the chow hall went next couldn't even eat the O club.

Saw the same thing at Groton: Marines at the gate to nobody at the gate. Of course you couldn't get near the lower portion of the sub base but still open door policy

We got a CIC that has some big ones. 'Bout time.

As this guy walks into a bar he glances over and sees Colin Powell and George W. sitting at a table talking pretty seriously. He asks the bartender if that is really them and the bartender confirms this. The guy then walks over to the table and says hello. He asks them what the 2 of them are doing sitting here in this bar. George says "We are planning the next war." The guy was kind of stunned by the bluntness of the president. He then asks "Well........ what is going to happen?" Colin speaks up and says "We are going to kill 10 million Iraqis and one blonde with big b()()bs." Really confused the guy scratches his head and says "Why a blonde with big b()()bs??" George then turned to Colin and said "See I told you nobody would give a sh!t about the Iraqis."


On a personal note my theory is bomb the whole country flat, pave it over, put up a huge wal~mart in the center (what says american business better than wal~mart?) and sell nothing but made in america stuff wall to wall.

This link pisses me off at the liberal Hollywood types. Their hatred for the Bush administration overshadows their ability to reason and rationalize that our President is responding to 09/11, and only trying to make this world a little safer place to live in. They actually hate our President more than someone like Saddam Hussein. With their (liberals) appeasment/apethetic/passifist/stick-their-head-in-the-sand mentality, hostile dictators could pop up all over the place, torturing, raping, putting people through tree branch grinders for entertainment, etc., and same would go unchallenged. These Hollywood types would be backed into a corner with the barrel of a gun pointed to their head before they recognize there is a threat. The United States can not afford to be isolationists and that was proven by 09/11.

The responses in this thread remind me of why this site is one of my favorites I visit daily. I cannot tell you how refreshing it is to read replies from people who have a true grasp of why we did what we did. I am not so naive to believe that oil and other reasons did not play a part in the decision to invade Iraq, but 9/11 & the threat of another terrorist act is why we were there. My girlfriend was opposed to the war & what we were doing over there. I told her she could be because there were enough people like me and our military leaders prepared to do WHATEVER is necessary to afford her that right in the future.

I spoke with some anti war protestors, asked 'em what they thought about 9/11 and they said "It was terrible but we should look at what the root causes were, we have been supporting israeli terrorism against the palestinians"

So I said "They're just like the whiny kids that go and shoot up school because someone took their lunch money one too many times. "

They started calling me heartless, asked if I bullied kids I said I got my ass beat all damn day in 8th grade.

Then one asked me about my haircut, and said there were more ways to serve your country than in the armed forces. I said yeah, be a cop, firefighter, nurse, doctor, paramedic, etc. He said no, the real heroes were the ones exposing the injustices.

I asked "do you expose injustices?"

him: yeah

me: Or do you just get facts off the internet and scream and moan about how terrible the world is?

him: that's uncalled for

It's a shame that there are those people that think it is our fault that 09/11 happened. Isreal only responds when attacked first. And you never see Israeli's with bombs strapped to themselves killing other people.
