I have a disk with some important information on it and I can't get the info off of it, tried 3 different computers and none of them will access the files. Some of the files are not accessible, but the really important ones aren't.

The disk is showing as 95% full but there are only 6 files on the disk, and they aren't enough to take up that much space.

Is there a good file recovery program that anyone would reccommend?

TIA
Steve

There are tools out there for this, BadCopy Pro is one I can think of..

"BadCopy Pro is a fully automatic and professional corrupted floppy disk, CD-ROM, CD-R data recovery tool working under Windows. It can recover and rescue all kinds of files like documents, images, applications or other data from damaged disk or CD. Using BadCopy is risk-free, no modify/overwrite operation on your original disk or files, it rescues your data and writes to a different location you specified."

Note, never used this, no idea if it works, hope it helps.

Have you tried ScanDisk??

This happened to my g/f one night. A major case she was working on was corrupted... something like 25 pages. Of course no back up. I messed around with ScanDisk.. didn't tell it to fix automatically. However, I did play with it for a while and got the computer to write a tmp file... I then opened that up with to notepad and it was there. Not perfect, but there enough that I could fix the margins and such.

Once again, I can't remember the exact details so please be careful. Try this on another disk first. I don't want you to loose your stuff.
