How to identify rear gearing ratio with cover off

I have the cover off is there a way to identify a gearset. I could look at the rpo code or use the rotate the wheel method, but car was brought used and want to read my gear set—is it stamped on the gearset itself somewhere?

Count the teeth. Then divide. 39÷9= 4.33.
