Is there a way to visually confirm that an ECM has been modified for low impedance injectors? Can the case be opened and inspected for these changes? What are the changes - are additional heat sinks added?

I am wondering the same thing. I just put mine in and was looking at it saying hmmmmm...

Remove the 4 screws on the sides and the 2 screws on the top to open the case up. The curcuit boards will lift out (it may take some gentle prodding. They are attached to each other via spacer bars/ heat sink on either side. You will see a long heat sink on the left side. The inj drivers are on that side. If it has been modded with CS-452 peak/hold drivers, they will have 5 pins vs 3 pins (NPN) on the stock drivers. You will also see one of the legs soldered to another leg on each driver and resistors attached to another leg, going to a 12v source for each of the new drivers as well.

There are several variants.

The only ones I trust, and that's a personal desicion, are Baileys, available thru Ramchargers. If you know what stock looks like his add a few lil dodads, and he uses a white, kind of caulking to protect the modifications.

Some have been modified with just using larger switching transistors, and those you can't tell from stock, unless you really know what stock looks like, You might be able to detect the clear stock covering has been removed in them to R+R the stock drivers.

And the screws holding the printed circuit boards to the spacers have had the clear disturbed to be disassembled.

BTW, you want to take all four screws out on the RIBBON side spacers, and then the 2 screws on the opposite top side. Wiggle the spacer out, and then you can slide the top board back and out to open things up, and look inside. All the injector drivers bolt to the large heatsink.
