Are there any numbers on the convertor that distinguishes the different stall speeds?

On the newer CPT ones yes. They have letter codes which identify the stall. P, O, N, M are the most common.
The older models usually do not have anything.

The Art Carr of Texas converters use "pumps" (-0, -4,-6, after the part #) like the Vigilantes.
 
I think I bought mine around 1998. Do you know differnt stalls art carr had back then? I think mine was a 3200, but I'm not sure.
