HTF Valve Body

All right I found an 200R4 out of a 87 olds, I was going to rebuild it and have it pretty much complete and swap my BRF valve body when I pull it out to swap.
I have been having issues with the 2-3 shift now. I hit th rev limiter and it scares the bejesus out of me on 1-2 shift waiting for things to fly apart.
It seems to shift at 5600 rpm or higher.
If I installed the HTF govener could I hurt the existing tranny?
I was going to drop the pan and give it a test or am I wasting my time?

That HT gov should pull the shifts way down.
Would not hurt to try. The only thing you would be out is your time.

Could I adjust the weight by removing metal with my bench grinder?
I could always weigh my BRF govener and the HTF govener and find a happy medium.
Or are there other things that need to be considered besides the weight?

You could weigh and adjust a bit.
The small BRF weight is 14.7 grams. This is the unique part of what you have in a BR gov.
To get the HT weight down to that weight will be tough. When finished, it will be fragile, and may bend if you put to much heat to it.
Find a middle ground, and try that out.
