The new tire/rim combo I'm running is o.k. I want a fatter tire out back though. The fronts are 15x4 with 26" tall tires. The backs are 15x8s with 235/60/15s. I got these because they were the same height as the front tires. I want a fatter tire though. The wheels are Cragar Street Stars. I'm not sure of the offset because when I asked I was told they had "standard offset". I have air shocks out back and will fill them with enough to keep from rubbing. What is a good tire size that will fill the well up nicely? Also, besides replacing the front springs I want to raise the front back to stock levels. The springs sag and I thought maybe an air shock set-up may be available? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I think the 275/50R15 are 26" tall. Check clearance with your set up now, these tires will add almost 1" on the inside and another 1"on the outside, approx 1 5/8" total increase in tread width over 235/60R15. See if you have enough room toward frame and quarter panel. Some brands recommend 8 1/2" rim.

i would seriously replace the front springs instead of air shocks, they ride funny esp on the front and they dont last too long when used to lift the vehicle. put the frame on jackstands and put a jack under the control arm. unbolt the lower ball joint and tie rod, now get a big hammer and hit the SPINDLE not the ball joint stud, hit it on the side around the hole where the stud goes in. now slowly let the jack down. pull the spindle and brake assy back and up out of the way with a bungie or somthin. now get somebody with some serious muscle and a big pry bar to slide in the new spring, put top in first and pry the bottom in towards spring seat. takes a lot of grunt but not much skill really.

I am currently running a 275/50 DR out back on a lowered GN with no rub. Rim is a 15x8 with 4'' back spacing. Looks very meaty from the rear.

I got a bubby that is running a 275/60 DR on a stock height GN and his rubs due to the backspacing of the rim. 15x8 4.5'' backspace. Fixed with a spacer and longer arp wheel studs. Also looks very meaty from the rear. Kinda looks tubbed.

There's a variation in overall height in the tires you've listed.

If the rims are 15":
275/50x15 = 25.83" tall
275/60x15 = 27.99" tall
295/50x15 = 26.61" tall.

If the rims are 16":
275/50x16 = 26.83" tall
275/60x16 = 28.99" tall
295/50x16 = 27.61" tall.
