So a few weeks ago I was at a local 1/8th mile strip doing some ET bracket racing, and I was one step from poor, so I ran in the stock class, $20 to get in. I was running mid 8's @ 95-98 mph (whooped a LS1 with a 75 shot) More importantly, there were 3 girls (definitely under 25 yrs) racing their cars (99 Stratus, 2000 3/4 ton Hemi Ram, and 87 Stang GT). I was hanging out with my buddy at his trailer and we were putting in a new fuel pump and messing with the jets on his car, being a blown/alky injected 540 CID aluminum Hemi in a 69 Dart and he was running 4.3x's all night long. I ended up making it to the semi's and red-lighted .498 on a .500 tree.

My buddy went without me yesterday and he said that probably 20 people (the 3 hotties included) came over to his trailer and asked where the black Buick was. I was impressed that anyone knew what it was, but it was drawing a crowd all night long. Man it feels good to not have a Camaro or Mustang! :D

i wish i could get less attention. every freaking mouthbreathing redneck withing a 500 mile radius will randomly stop by my house asking if i'd sell the car(they usually offer a few grand lol). then seem upset when i tell them no. the ones that don't want to buy it are always giving me "good" performance advice about putting a v8 with some gears and flowmasters.

I must say, I have this same issue. this 4th of july i felt like the car was this hottest thing on the block comparing to 350Z,WRX,GTO,COBRA, and other rice. I could not believe people was laying down on the ground to look at the car (under), and oh yea the chick was all over the badboy.

GOING FAST IN CLASS.......whats better?

It is a good thing!! I drive a ls1 but anytime I see a TB at the track I go to the fence to watch em run. I can see plenty of stripper mustang turbo cars but you dont see many daily driver type turbo cars unless they are TBs.

Yep....had the same problem when I had my 87 GN. Between the "nice Monte SS" comments, there was always the inevitable "Why don't you put a 350 in there, it would be faster". Then they would look at me funny (could tell it confused them) when I said "why would I want to put a V8 in there and go slower". After a few minutes of them standing there looking like  , would tell them what it ran at the local 1/8 track. was the normal response to the times. Gonna be even worse with the T because it looks like a reg ol Regal...... :D

Don't forget the

"You shoud switch that to a 5-speed, it'll go faster"

or "aww it's an automatic"

To my response...."you ever been beat by an automatic"
If they say Yes Then i say "Ok then, so whats your point"

If They No, then I say "would you like to be?" with an evil grin ;)

Nobody ever really knew what mine was. Of course, it was white with chrome bumpers, column shift, and that plush maroon interior w/ a bench seat :D
