I'm installing a new A/C compressor and I'm missing the mounting bolts. Can anyone help me identify the correct bolts? Are they supposed to be long bolts that go completely through the compressor and bracket or short bolts that thread into the compressor?

Umm... Yes :-) One threads into the hsg itself, the other 2 are a stud and a through bolt. The through bolt one often has the nut fall off- use locktight :-)

No bolt screws into the compressor housing. A long stud is on the alum mounting plate and uses just a nut. The bottom bolt goes through the compressor and has a nut also. The other 2 long bolts go through the compressor and screw into threads on the alternator bracket.

All this assumes you are working on '86-7.
