I just took the car out for a drive tonight down towards Richmond and it feels great. I'm wondering though, could I be out of injector with this turbo? I'm running 50's and a double pumper, 45psi fp line off. Oh, the second pump comes on at 20 psi. The reason that I ask is because this turbo doesn't look much bigger than my TE44 that I used to have. Maybe it's me, but this thing looks to small to max out 50's. I know it could all be in the design of the wheels on it, but I'm just curious what the experts have to say. I shot John Craig and email just asking for a compressor map and cfm rating, but no reply yet. Does anyone know what the capability of this turbo is?

if you measure the compressor wheel youll see the difference. approx. 9 mm. actual TE- housing may be the same

Godfrey, if you do not like turbo, I'll always buy it back, no problem. I have tried three turbos this year myself. I understand. That turbo should rock looking at specs, but like you said, the housings look like a stock turbo.

Scott,

I never said I didn't like it. In putting it on the car I thought it was kinda small looking for a turbo that is supposed to make such big power. For what I paid for it, if I didn't like it I'd be glad to keep it as a spare. Hell, after driving around on it yesterday I think I could run 11.80 on street tires with it. Don't be offended, I was just wanting numbers from the people who built it.

if you can, take the intake pipe off and measure the inducer diameter of the wheel (front part with the blades). it should be 67 mm. a 44 has a 58 mm inducer diameter. the housings arent that big of a deal. the old stealth turbos had stock TA housings with 70 wheels. they just machine the housings and center sections for different wheel/shaft sizes. my ta49 and stock turbo looked the same on the outside but comparing the inducer there was a marked visual differences

Godfrey, thats what I was trying to tell you about that little looking Subaru turbo. It looks like a pea shooter, BUT it will rock. It's a GT35. But looks like a mini turbo. It has been stuffed into smaller housings....custom Australian job.

I believe you Scott, especially after playing with the car tonight coming out of Washington, D.C. back into VA. I was running a little on the lean side, so I turned the turn-on point for the second pump down. The car really responded to the extra fuel. 20 psi feels really good.

Consider using an alky kit to get another 15% out of your 50lbers.

50lbers and alky should get you into the high 10's no problem with the double pumper.

I have an SMC kit on the car, so we'll see what it does at this eighth mile track tomorrow on pump gas, alky, and street tires.
