Still haven't seen any results of testing on the ground side of the circuit........

I got some 10 ga. wire and going to pick up heavier fuse holder after work tomarrow and get changed other one still getting hot, is 10 ga. thick enough?
You could temporarily run the wire straight from the generator output terminal to the connector at the tank. If the voltage drops when you connect it,the problem could be in the tank and possibly the pump itself. The ground for the pump connects to the body inside the trunk at the drivers side quarter panel.

Hello Chuck how do you go about checking the ground , i have multi meter but not very knowable with it. i have battery in trunk and have neg battery cable hooked up to frame under middle of car and to front fender panel . I can put pos prong on pos battery terminal and then black prong to round and see what volts are

I did run a thicker wire from alt post to hot wire connector in rear of car i did unhook the old smaller wire from old hot wire, the volts at the fp connector was 13.6v and volts at alt were 13.9v with car warmed up. but i did notice that the fp connector wire were i test for volts was getting warm to touch again. Any ideas i'll probably drop tank and take a look , i have to any way because fuel gauge sending unit isn't working rite

Did you check the relay connector? Where is the relay located?

i believe they are located on dr side fender , I just cleaned all connectors on all of them they were coated with black tar from factory , now at least they are cleaner looking now and seem to help

I,'m not talking about the factory relay. I'm talking about the relay for the hotwire.

Did you inspect it?
yes all look ok but i dont know how to test,, now with new 10 ga wire installed i get 13.6v at connector going to hot wire relay.
and i get 13.45v at connector from hot wire to fuel pump and this is where the wire is still hot to touch , I just dropped fuel tank to take a look and all looks ok no loose connections and wires all good
