I went to the track last nite went a 12.001 ,so what is combo missin . I have seen guys with lesser combo goin faster, so what am i doin wrong throw the suggestions at me. randy

this pass was made on et street 11.5-28-15

mph was right at 111

so any suggestions?

A TA61 @ 25 psi and only 111 mph?? Your car is laying down on the top-end. Check your valve springs for one. Maybe that N/L convertor is killing your ET and mph? My car goes 117mph @ 24psi and that's with a better 60' and smaller turbo. Something definately does not add up. What is your elevation?

you should be right there (as you are) what rpm are you going thru the traps?

I presume your converter is a non lock?

what do your 02's look like?

12.001? All you need is a stiff southern breeze:D
What's your 1/8th mile speed?
How much boost can those ET streets handle at the line?
Maybe slicks would be your ticket to the elevens;)

Definatly get a L/U converter if you don't have one.

Your 60's are certainly their. It looks like you may be running rich up top. Tell us your 02's thur the traps and we will know more.

I know a for sure way that wont cost you a dime. Go on a diet and lose about 20lbs, that ought to get you to 11.999---ha ha.

What downpipe are you running? I got a car to pick up nearly 10mph in the 1/4 by putting on a TH 3" DP with a similar combo. Something to look at.

Kev :)

Slicks and more boost:D

If you put your car on a diet your there. Every 100 pounds lost is worth a tenth. Take out the passenger side seat and the spare tire an you should be there.:D

This is real basic but probably worth asking. Are you running in 3rd or are you allowing the car to shift into overdrive? Letting it shift into 4th really kills the MPH. Keeping it in 3rd would help if that is the case.

I run a non-l converter, 02 are 810-820 no knock,fp 44, custom 3in dp, and always run the car in 3rd gear.

would l/u converter help that much?

Oh ya one other thing that seam funny to me was that the better 60 ft i had sunday the less mph i would have on that pass does that make scents.Topfuel my et in the 1\8 was 7.59 @ 89.6 mph.

The average is et=1356/mph so your 12.001 should be more like 113, not 111 mph, so your 60' and 1/8th mile are good but your top end isn't. What rpms are you turning at the finish line? Or if you have directscan, what rpm at say 110 mph (to see how much your converter is slipping)? With turbolink or directscan most guys tune for a little lower on the O2's, maybe 780 or so instead of 800-810, while watching for knock as always (780 seems to be safe, 770 is leaner but hotter, and 790+ is pretty much guaranteed to be a little slower - you pick the # :-)). If you have some other scan tool you need to make sure it reports O2s the same way TL does or you might already be lean.

Randy, what track did you go to, Hattiesburg? It hooks really well usually. Lena is closed down for good I heard. You should definately be getting more on the big end. Even with stock heads, that 61 should mph better than that. Have you ever run 28 inch tires?

Do any of you guys run close to my combo, but with a lock-up converter if so what are your mph,02s,etc.................

I agree. .810-820's is a bit ruch up top.

The rule of thumb is a 25mph gain between your 1/8th and 1/4mile speed. If not, you are too rich. I'd try dropping the FP a bit and keep a close eye on KR.

Also, I gain a full 10th when I manually shift the car from 2nd to 3rd. (Might want a shift light for this)

Good luck.

sounds like my car, i think you should have a little more on the top end tho. I ran my car the other week with the ta49 at 23psi and rich to where it back fired at the end so i let up some and still ran 110mph and a 89 mph in the 1/8. You have more in the car iam sure , probaby just need to find its sweet spot.:D Cant give yea a time , i had a 2.3 60' and ran 13.01

I think with a 12.001 you could take your money in change out and run 11's.:D
