Well I set the tps to .44 and drove it, the idle is still at 1k, and I've found no vacuum leaks :( I guess I'll head to ANS tomorrow for another chip.. Any suggestions my mods are in one of the first posts of mine. Thanks for the info..
 
Coolant is 160 as well on the scanmaster.. a bad coolant sensor could make the ecm think the motor is cold.

If CLT on the scanmaster is above 160, IAC is 20 ish, TPS .38-.46, MAF is 5-6,... its probably the chip.

If you have direct scan, you can confirm the programmed idle. Also if you close the TB blade completely and the RPMs keep going up with IAC, then the chip is commanding the 1K rpms.

lastly.. I hope your using the scanmaster for idle and not a factory LED rpm guage :rolleyes:

No, Im using a Mac Tools scanner. It's gotta be the chip then.. I've gone through everything I think it could be and nothing.. Another queistion is how would a weak or faulty ign coil/module function? Im wondering if that could have anything to do with it.. Before I did the conversion to 87 setup from my hot pipe setup, the engine seemed to rev alot quicker, Im wondering if a "weak" spark is to blame? Might this tie in with the Idle? Doubtful I think.. Any suggestions as to the new chip?
 
after reading this tread i attemted to adjust my iac which was 0 at idle by turning the screw out 1/2 turn at a time the first half tun the iac went to 2 by trhe 4th 1/2 turn ( 2 full turns ) the iac was 30 i turned it in 1/4 turn it is now at a steady 24 and my tps went from . 42 to .38 i shut the car reset the tps to .42 . and the iac is now at 26. and it feels like a new car at idle especilly when you give it gas the idle does not drop off and almost stall the rpms drop nice and smood also my tps at wot easily shoots to 4.72 where before this adjustment i had to berry my foot into the pedal to reach 4.6

Well, we're in range and idling great now.. I replaced the chip that was Unknown street chip, and installed a Lubrant street chip.. Did the initial setup, and it rocks now.. For all who have the question on how to set the IAC, the only thing that isnt in the instructions on gnttype, is the shutting off of the car between adjustments. That helps so much..
