Id this turbo? Pics

O.k. I have been reading and looking and so far my best guess is that this turbo is a PTE53 Shown in link below.
Turbocharger Guide

I have looked for numbers and stamps but I think this was polished at one time in it's life and that stuff is not easily seen while on the car. Where else should I look?
Any other things I am missing to look for?

ps. I just got this car. My friend who was putting this together died a few years back and the car has been sitting since that time. So I am reading up trying to remember what he did to it and what it has on it. I was suprised to see that ATR is now gone.

The car has quite a bit of bolt ons..Any chance you can find his screen name on the board and maybe the turbo ID is in his signature or profile ?

I tried to look him up but I am not sure he was on this site he passed away over 4 years ago. This car has lots and lots of time and $ spent on it. Thanks.
