I've had my new 85 just about a month now, and have finally finished messing around with all the little things (spring cleaning, replacing vacuum lines, gauges, etc) and my next step was to upgrade my electronics to the 86/87 peices. I had assumed it was all the stock stuff (since just about everything else on the car is) but i recently realized my coil and module had allready been converted by a previous owner. This made me happy to discover, but now I'm wondering if maybe he'd swapped over the ECM to the later-style as well. I dont think I've seen a MAT sensor on the motor, which would imply the swap wasnt done, or wasnt done properly (will the car even run if the ECM gets no signal from a MAT?). So while i was installing my knock gauge, I copied down the numbers on the backl of my ECM, and I was hoping you guys could chime in at tell me if i have the stock one, or if its allready been upgraded to an 86/87 unit. Here is what it said on the sticker on the back of my ECM (and if these arent the numbers you need, lemme know where to look and I'll go find them).

If it turns out it is a stock computer, im gonna swap that out, then install a hot-wired walbro fuel pump. I figure that will give me a good foundation for tuning (since i could then use scanmaster, etc.) and for later performance mods (as im rpetty much stock right now). If it allready been converted though, I guess I would need to find and wire in a MAT sensor? I'm assuming if its the 87 comp, without a MAT, that it would run like crap? Which mine kinda does... not too terrible, and much ebtter than when i first bought it, but still not as well as i would hope. Anyways, thanks for the help guys.

Thank you sir... before i post a question like this that I am sure hs ben asked millions of times before, I try to do a search for the topic, but I'm so useless with a computer, i neevr find anything that applies to what im wondering about. Thansk for giving the link i needed.

It looks like mines the stock hot-air, so im going to go ahead and swap that out as soon as i can
