I stopped by a local car show about a week ago while driving the GN and low and behold there is a TTA in the show. Me being a big fan of the car, I start walking towards it. Just as I get to it this idiot (manager of AutoZone)comes up to me and says "check out this car" pointing to the 69 Camero parked beside the TTA. First of all I hate Mustangs and Cameros just for the fact that there are millions of them. So I explain to the idiot that the TTA is a rare car and it was a pace car edition as well. Then I informed said idiot that there were 2 other 69 Cameros in the show. To top it off the lady that was with the TTA just smiled from ear to ear that someone actually new how rare it was. The Camero had some chrome and rope lighting under the hood which I find completely revulsive. Is it a car or a dance floor? I hate seeing multiple versions of the exact same car at a car show. It is one thing to be at a meet with a group of buicks or a mustang meet but a car show that has 3 or 4 of the same car is awful. Call me hateful if you want but I would rather see a car that I don't get to see very often over a car I can see every other day.

It doesn't help that I can't stand the idiot in the first place. I got into a argument in AutoZone with him because of his stupidity and he followed me out to my car cussing at me in front of other customers. They gave me the wrong part that and didn't want to let me return it because I opened the box. The numbers on the box were not the ones off of the computer so it was their mistake. I don't shop there anymore. The Camero comment just proved his stupidity to me. He thought it was a plain old TA.

The thing I like most about these cars is they are totally unique, yet their are still many around.:cool:I my self am not a car show kinda person,if I go I let my wife drive one of the Buicks and answer all the dumb questions(she knows more than most and yes she can drive):pI will say this, most Buick owners Turbos and even the older Buicks seem to be a more mature and a true enthusiast to the hobby.JMHO

I am not a big car show fan either. They tend to be bogus on voting and there is a large amount of camero's and mustangs. I don't mind the cars so much when the car is a labor of love or if there is a good story with them. I prefer cruise in's. There is one on the south side of Indy in a town called Greenwood. It is called Sud's. There is usually 200 cars there on every Saturday in the summer and there are some very unique cars there as well. There is a Pantera, Avanti and occasionally a Lamborgini. No voting no entry fee, just a bunch of car fanatics and Mrs. Fastnasty. The atmosphere is great with the exception of the new pizza joint that has a hard on for anyone parking on their lot. That is a completely different rant than this thread though. If anyone is ever in Indy in the summer on a Saturday it is worth the time to check it out.

The original post I started with was supposed to read (repulsive) damn auto correct! Just had to fix that.

First off what's a "Camero"?

I can understand the anti Mustang/Camaro thing, but for me when it comes to either, I'm a fan of the 1964-70 Mustang and the 1967-1969 Camaro. I don't believe there's that many around regardless of how many you see.

That's funny if it was indeed the manager who followed you out of AZ cussing at you the whole way. You'd think he'd rather keep customers by being cordial as opposed to showing his true colors in front of everyone. Customer is always right as they say.

Maybe you should have fixed CAMARO, too.

I don't like 'em either, I'm jus' sayin'.

Sounds like yer panties get bunched pretty easily. Maybe you should try a thong!:)

For the Autozone thing, I've never heard of anything like that anywhere. If you hadn't opened the box, how would ya know if the part was wrong? There's more to that story, jus' sayin'.

I meet 2-3 people a year at car shows that know of the Turbo TA. I attend numerous shows. What a sleeper though.

Rivical,

There is no more to the story. It was a relay for my accord and he kept saying I was trying to return the old relay. The stupid part was he couldn't comprehend that I was wanting the right one. So how am I scamming him? I wanted them to take the part back that they gave me that was wrong and give me the right one. I wasn't asking for my money back I just wanted the right part. One of the other employees tried to intervene because he understood the problem but the moron wouldn't let either one of us try to get the point across.

I will try the thong idea. I do get P.O.'d easy but I am not the only one in the area that has had a problem with this @$$ hat. The way I see it, in our small town of less than 15,000 we have a Auto Zone, Advanced Auto, Napa, Carquest and a O'rielly just opened up a couple weeks ago so I have other choices and I made up my mind not to go to Auto Zone anymore. If the moron quits then I will go back.

The area I live in is pretty rural. The 3 county schools have a total of maybe 250 to 300 students per grade. So with that said there are around 15 late 60's CAMARO's in the county. My father in law had a few 69's at one time but he is also an owner of a Monte Aeropoop. <-- I mean to spell it that way too! He has had 2 of those ugly monstrosities. He has a 64 Impala without a motor and he wants to get rid of it. I say sell the Monte and keep the Impala. Yes that contradicts the original post because the Aeropoop is rare but it is ugly and the impala is beautiful.

All the car stuff is a matter of opinion and I understand that but the AutoZone jack wagon is still an idiot.

It does seem like there is usually 30 old camaros at every cruise in that me and the wife go to every year. There are also some mustangs, but damn at the camaros.I don't hate them so to speak, but i get tired of seeing the same old car over and over. This is Alabama though, where just about everyone is a sheep clone of everyone else, and i am a black sheep i guess with my Fairlane and GN,lol...They do get alot of attention and i do still like the remarks i hear about the regal(it has twins from the factory, its a nice monte carlo)..I don't even argue anymore,:D

Just bustin yer chops man!:D

I had a feeling it was gonna be an electrical part, but any wrong part is returnable, since you obviously couldn't have used it. If any store employee had tried to rip me off, let alone cursed me in front of others, I'd be sure he was looking for a new job. There's surely a AutoZone in the next town where you could go get the district mgr's contact info and relate your story of an unprofessional manager in a tough market like they must have in your own town. I'd make that lil hall monitor Cartman's life miserable. I sure wouldn't be talking to him at a carshow! Without being rude, it's pretty easy to rub people off.

You know, I've never seen a TTA other than at a show. I don't particularly care for Camaro's or have an interest in most Mustang's any more than the next guy either, but I try to look em all over at our small local shows, just because 99% of the cars there are a labor of love. I had to explain that to my buddy at this years Buick show when he wasn't thrilled about walkin the row of front driver's.;) I do dig those aeropoop's though! Not cuz they're rare, but cuz they're so different. But if I ever owned another Monte, I'd have to hack it up and stretch the wheelbase in the front. I think they could actually be atractive if the front wheels were moved about 2" forward. As it is, all Monte SS's just look like an otherwise pretty girl with a big italian nose!
