Was having a slight hesitation off idle when the GN (87) was cold. After it warmed up was fine. I just put new spark plugs and wires on it. Car is close to stock. We thought that the Casper heated O2 sensor sounded like it would get rid of the problem so I made the change. First drive was awful! Engine would speed up on its own, coming off the throttle it would not want to back down, it was a lot like having the O2 disconnected. So I disconnected the battery to reset the computer. Went through the warm up and drove the car. Seemed to run pretty good. Let it cool down and restarted. Idle wavers between 400 and 800 until thoroughly warmed up. If you try to put it in gear before it is warmed up it will die. Help.

Found a slight vacuum leak in the heater controls and fixed that. Let it cycle a few more cold starts and seems to be getting better. Starts good, jumps to 1500 rpm, then idles down to 600 rpm in about 4 seconds. I guess it takes a while to relearn when you reset the computer.

How did u get the heated 02 sensor from caspers for?

Yes, after you reset the computer, u are supposed to drive the car for 15 to 20 mins so that it will relearn itself. If u have an aftermarket chip, depending on how it was burned it will go into a learning mode that makes it run a little rougher. Once.you drive for a couple miles the car has the info it.needs to make air and fuel adjustments. Once the key is turned off and on again, it will change modes and lock everything in. (At least this is what a turbotweak chip does)

Casper's was a little cheaper than others. I suspect everyone is selling their's. It was $104 delivered to MI.

I run a heated 02 sensor and I just buy one that would fit the old Mustangs. I believe it is late 80's early 90's. I get them for around $35.00 and just make my own 12 volt supply. Bruce
