will it effect my boost levels etc. I am looking at an 86 GN with a peg leg and 18k actual miles. If I go to a 3.73 posi or 4.10 will it **** up the stock set up

If you do a search on this I believe you will find that the GN responds best with the 3:42 in stock or modified form.

Changing Gears on a stock GN is a waste of money, unless you are changing to 2.7X gears for better fuel economy :)

You will be able to do better burnouts with 4.10:1's, but that is about it.

Well

looks like I will stay with 3:42s,,,no burnout for me on an 18k mile car :D

Thanks guys

Not for the street but it seems to help at the track. I speak from my own experiance. I use a 5.14 gear. I still run a 2004R trans and use all 4 gears. I used to run a 3.90 before that. Some say you need the stock gears to load the turbo, others say with lower gears it will spool quicker.
If this is a driver I wouldn't go any lower than a 3.73 If it is a racer well its up to you. For those who say it doesn't work look at my sig. or the the fact that I qualified #2 in TSM at BPG.
