Chasing a no start, car was running fine parked for a few hours and now no start.
When I was checking for spark and making sure the plug boots were on the coil towers tight I noticed the coil for #6 and #3 was very hot to the touch.

I split the module and coil pack and tested the coil inputs with a test light as per the trouble shooting tree and the other 2 inputs gave me a blinking test light. I assume the module has failed (it's original) but is there anything else I should check that could cause this.

Thanks

If the coils are hot a few minutes after turning the key on, but car not running, you have a defective CCCI module. The coils are switched on only momentarily, to produce a spark and ONLY when the engine is running.

Thanks John, I have ordered up a new module. You can't make a spark unless you pulse the coil. I have read on the board here for years that it is just a matter of when and not if, that the module will give out. I should have had a spare handy.
