I recently changed mines. You need a bigger crimp on connector for the stud on back of the alternatore. Its pretty much bolt on, but sometimes you will lose one mounting point like i did. But it still works fine.
My first alternator change, it was easy. You can exchange your old one at autozone and get the 95 0r 96 impalla SS one for 90$.
