Hey guys hope every one had a great xmas and new year:D

I wanted to know if any of you guys new what to do to pass emissions if you
have no cat??? I looked in the emissions section but it was not much help??? how much alky ? what kind? Will this one time severly hurt my T??? sorry for the twenty questions bit

Does Texas offer any type of collector/classic vehicle registration? In NJ we have it but are only allowed to drive 3k miles per year with no inspection. When I go to the inspection station all they check is the odometer to make sure it works, and you did not exceed 3k miles/year, thats it, nothing else.

You better find someone local to borrow a cat from. Don't they do a visual inspection too, so if they don't see a cat......your screwed?

Well the Guys doing the inspection where some old school hot roders, So they where letting me get away with murder. unfortunatly they could not do anything about the cat, They did a visual inspection and let it go. But when they put the sniffer up the pipe, their was not anything they could do to change the values on the computer :( . Basically they will let it pass, but thier isnt anything they can do if the computer doesnt pass it. What they said was.....You need to lean it out more LOL :) . So i figure why not take their advice. I was Reading in the emissions area that this one guy with a hollow setup (NO CAT ) ran alky in the tank and it passed. I just needed to know how much. since i have about half a tank of super as of now???

I tried passing IL emissions without a CAT and it was a joke-Failed. I put on a CAT and removed the test pipe and barely passed. I would borrow a CAT from Jerryl or one of the other Houston members. My new cat collects dust because the smart IL EPA does not require emissions testing on cars 94 and older who have a valid emissions sticker @ 01/01/2007. IL now only test cars on transfer of title. You also may have issues with your chip-Nothing in your signature regarding mods. Brad

Contact turbotweak.com. Tell him your situation and your mods and he might be able to burn you a chip that will "limp" you down to the station and get you to pass. Otherwise, you may have to buy a converter for these situations. I haven't had to deal with a situation like this for a long time. But what I did with my t type I had back in high school was put a 12 pack of beer in the trunk and told the guys at the inspection station that if theres anything loose in my trunk that it better be gone when it comes out of the garage. My car always passed with flying colors. ;) Depending on how well you know those guys, you most likely probably won't want to try that.

LOL no i dont think i will :D. I still cant believe none of you guys have hurd of putting denaturd alky in the tank to lean the car out and pass inspection?? either way i will definitly call eric and see how much that would cost:frown:
