If i cant get my brf code 200 to shift very soon i am going to install a rebuilt turbo 350 from my old pontiac firebird. Is the only thing that will have to be changed is the cross member to get it to go in.

Will this 350 trans kill my 1/4 mile times and will it even hold up to my car. It only is a stock rebuild with a shift kit. Can i use my stock shifter and consol to.

thanks guys

Built correctly, it's plenty strong enough to handle a TR. You may have a slight decrease in acceleration due to the higher 1st gear ratio (2.52 vs. 2.78). Your shifter can work with the 350 as well.

You'll need to purchase an appropriate converter. A factory Firebird torque converter won't work well with a turbo V6.

If you drive your TR often, you will see a drop in gas mileage w/o the overdrive and lock-up.

Why not just get your 200-4R to a reputable repair facility?

I have a 2800 stall for it and it has 0 miles on the rebuild so i no it should work. I would have it fixed but i dont really have the money because i just bought the trans for like 700-750 and a ac stall for 350.00 and the trans wont shift , now i have no money just a new 350 trans out back. Plus i dont know any tranny guy around me in maryland that are good with these cars. only the cross member sounds easy.
