I was told that to install the beehive springs on GN1 heads that there is a cup that needs to be used with aluminum heads. Can someone explain how and what exactly that is please. I've never read anything about it before.

Thanks in advance

any aluminum head needs at least a shim between the spring and the head to prevent the spring from "chewing" into the head, comp also sells hardened steel spring seats & seat cups to accomplish this, and they are considerably better than just a shim under the spring.

Thank You, blown okie

I asked the vendor what i needed to install the beehive springs on the GN1's and he said, springs, retainers, locks, cups and that's what i ordered but i never thought to ask about what the cups were. lol

Thanks again
