installing oil pressure gage, need help

I know its a stupid question, but with my luck, I am going to ask anyway. Like the title states, I am getting ready to install a new oil pressure gauge and before I break the sender I thought I would ask if there was a trick to getting the sender off the block. I am refering to the sender just above the oil filter. I was simply going to install a T fitting there and tap the oil pressure at that point. Is that where everyone else is picking it up? Is there a better place to install it? I was looking at the sender and wires and figured with my luck if I touch it I will break it so I figured I would ask first and find out if there is a trick to removing it. Thanks for the help. Jeff
