Well, I took off my cylinder head thinking it was a blown head gasket, but I found out I bent a valve. Anyways, I ordered that, but was wondering something about the intake manifold gasket I bought from Poston's. It is a one piece sheet metal gasket while the one that was in already was two seperate paper gasket on each side of the manifold. Is this going to be a problem, it does match up to the manifold, I just think the one piece looks more difficult to install, but I dont if there is a reliability issue with the one piece gasket versus the seperate gaskets. And is there a place on island I can get Hylomar brand sealant for my copper head gaskets? Thanks guys.

That's the valley pan design, just like the stock one. Actually it should be easier to install. There should be two tabs that keep the gasket in place, vs the two separate ones. As for the sealant... I have no idea

thanks for the help, should I use RTV sealant for the intake manifold gasket, I believe that was on there before, at least in the front and back of the manifold.

That valley pan also keeps hot oil from splashing onto the underside of the intake which can affect intake temperatures. It's prolly worth a few ponies to have one vs. not having one. stew

right..

only on SBO's do I remove the VP style gasket, since they eat VPs for some odd reason...
