integral wastegate/downpipe question

Hi folks,

I have been looking at the 3" downpipes vs the 2.5 downpipes and see that 3" generally have integral wastegates.

Question 1. Do all 3" dp have to have an integral wastegate.

Question 2. What exactly do you have to do to use a downpipe with an integral wastegate or do you just bolt right up to where the stocker used to be and you are good to go??

Finally. Questin 3. I measured the outer diameter of the exhaust portion of my turbo and it was 2.75" i believe. Does a 3" piece neck down to that size? Basically what does the 3" dp seal to on the turbo if the outlet is smaller than 3"?

I don't know much but this is what I think I know

1) Not all have an integral wastegate.........think zero to sixty makes a hotair one that is a direct stock replacement. Have also heard of custom ones that use an external wastegate but don't know much about these.

2) You remove the cast elbow which houses the puck........is built into the integral pipe. You can go to a certian unnamed vendor's website and see pics

3) I don't know.........I'm sure there's someone on here with alot more knowledge than me, just thought I'd get it rolling

Ok, mease is the only current vendor making an internal wastegate down pipe.
Lee Thompson makes d/p's every once in a while but you have to use an external racegate in the crossover. Those are expensive and you have to do additional exhaust pluming if you dont want it to vent to atmosphere.
I made my own terrry houston knock off. I have pics if you would like to see it.

yeah that would be nice to see some pics... i was doing some more snooping around...i believe the part i was missing was that the integrated wastegate DP don't use the exhaust elbow is that correct?

Do people port out the factory exhaust elbow, or is that a waste of time and effort?
