Took the ladies in my life downtown to see the Rockefeller Christmas Tree this weekend. I then walked up the block a little ways to stop by and say hello.
The area is a madhouse! But we had fun, as always.
They are keeping the top of the building blacked out. Normally the top floors are lit up, especially the penthouse windows (Trump's apartment). But apparently they have done something to shade the windows.
I'm not sure how much media coverage you guys are getting on this location were you are. But here it's like a constant stream of info on who's going and who's leaving that building every minute. After leaving the area, we walked to Columbus Circle. Along the way we passed 3 more buildings with his name on them. Then, of course, when I get home just 28 minutes away, the tallest building in my town (about 50 stories) has his name on it as well.
I think it's kind of cool though. It added to the whole holiday feel of the midtown area. The brain dead mayor of NY doesn't like it much. But our Westchester County Executive has welcomed him warmly and wonders why he doesn't stay at his beautiful Westchester estate.
