I also forgot to mention that Innovate makes a nice cable that connects from iPhone to OBD2 ports and with their free app you can read and clear trouble codes and log certain data fields. Not much help Buick wise, but it works great on LS-stuff!

There are also apps available for Droid to do obd2 scanning. You can use a bluetooth adapter to hook it to the car. Pretty cool stuff.

I use an app where I put in the song, or the group or artist and it downloads it to my phone. Then I have a music app that I play that has a random play function. All music I like and no commercials. Though the pandora app is pretty cool to though it has commercials.

Is that first app you mention free? I use Pandora mostly.

I have an HTC Droid through Verizon. I got mine when it first came out.
It was hard to get used to and had some quirks and freezing up. I was told by Verizon to download the "update" not long after I got the phone. It took 2 hours to down load and made the problems worse.
Some problems I have experienced.....
self dialing
pressing to dial one phone number and it dials another
locking up when trying to receive a call, respond to text messages, place a call or when dialing.
Erasing old text messages will lock the phone up
Using the internet it will just shut down
Trying to use phone prompt systems was impossible without an application called SCREEBL that would keep the screen illuminated.
Not able to talk on the phone and use any internet applicatiosn at the same time.
When the phone turned exactly a year old it got even worse. Everything slowed down. Its impossible to text message now. I am convinced it must have some kind of virus.
My best bud got his at the same time and got rid of his for a Thunderbolt which is minimally better.
I am getting an I phone next time. Screw this Droid crap!

I like mine. I never used verizon, though cheaper in my area, the coverage despite the commercials isn't as good. The lte is suppose to be out soon here so might be better then.

On mine I can talk on the phone while looking at the internet. I can play music and surf the net at the same time. It stops the music so I can take a call, then right back to music where it left off. I am made to understand that the dual core atrix is better for streaming video and on mine the sound gets off from the vid when playing movies sometimes but I just run it back a bit to get it synced up if I get a call while watching a movie.

you might look into the root thing and get a fresh install. Sounds like some kind of issue(s). As with anything computer, as soon as you buy it, it is outdated. A whole year and there have been a 'few' upgrades. Do some searching on google and you won't believe what you can find to get it up and running.

I see where radio shack has the inspire like mine for $29.99 n a two year commit. Also saw the new samsung with the 4.5" screen is out.

Oh and ross87t, seeing as that app I have is called free mp3 downlad I guess it does play mp3.

Evo 4g with CyanogenMod 7.0.3.1- Supersonic ... More than happy... Dropped cable and use my phone for free wifi... I havent used my laptop since i bought my phone... I run my Internet TV with Netflix, Hulu and the many apps that are updated on a regular basis... Vudu for my ppv... all off of my phone... I get on my home PC for work and large downloads... Other than that my phone is more than enough....

Iphone is the chit! camera, ipod which works flawlessly with my bluetooth wireless stereo headphones when listening to songs on the ipod, apps, speed, accessories, etc.. .my headphones synched to the iphone in about 5 seconds with no BS. just works every time. have a MacBook pro too and its just as sweet as the iphone. will never go back to a PC unless strictly playing a game. Apple is just the best there is imo. they aint cheap but u are getting wat u have paid for.

lotta software issues with the droid. freezes up a lot. its no secret

I have access to both. I have the droid...wife as the Iphone.

They are nearly identical. As far as apps, they both will do what you want.

There are apps for clearing OBD2 codes for both, bar code scanners,..etc.

I find more of the important apps like browsers, email, text, are more plentiful on the android platform as they have open development.

Not sure on the Iphone, as wife won't let me play, but the android can have different pictures on each screen. I really like that feature.

Do you go to flash sites? Not sure if the Iphone can do flash yet but it couldn't last time I checked.

Want a higher capacity battery or the ability to change the battery? Don't get an Iphone.

I use Itunes on my PC and it all syncs fine to the Android, even playlists and artwork.

To me, the Android does more than the Iphone but there are always those that have to have Apple's latest toy, even it is behind the curve.
