All right, who's in for a couple of easy runs tomorrow night?

I promised Pete that I would try out his GTQ-70 turbo at the track to see how it did so I plan to be there for a few easy runs

I'm gonna take it easy so I don't take a chance of damaging the borrowed turbo....lol

Today I drove the car out to Palm Desert & back and it ran real good. I'm still blowing a little black smoke around 15 psi (rich, rich, rich), but atleast its running

I'll back the boost off, reduce some top end fueling, add some timing, throw on the slicks and see if I can run a couple of low 7's without getting booted

Rumor has it that Harold is coming out to run his car, and Nordy is going import and is going to thrash his wife's 300 ZX Twin Turbo (while she is away in NY....lol)

Had a great turnout last week

Lots of spectators and right around 10 GN's, T-Types racing and / or parked out in the parking lot

Come one come all

We better get our measly slow a$$ runs in now before Brent & Nordy are back running & whipping the $hit out of all of us again

Congratulations Ray!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
6.60's NOW Thats makin power. I think that a 70-GTQ must be apart of your next parts list. LOL :D I'm so happy for you.

Fast Eddies time :D

It couldn't have happen to a better guy.. Congrads RAY on your 6.66 at 106mph.. yes, it's the devil number but it did happen in a BLACK car..

i can't wait to see you run at Fontana in April and bust off a 10.3* something at 130+...

CAGE IT, CAGE IT, CAGE IT lol....

Good Job Ray:eek: Hope you have a girdle. Here come the TECH police!...

What'd the wife think about that?:p ;)

Thanks

Great nite at the track, and from the looks of it I better enjoy the night because Brent is back on the road, and Nordy (Lite) will be back terrorizing us all real soon

Here's a breakdown of my setup tonight......

29 degree timing down low, 25 degree timing top end

28 X 10.5 slicks at 12 psi

Left Air bag (looking from the rear forward) at 5 psi, Right air bag at 15 psi

24 psi transbrake launch

28 psi max boost

6250 rpm (burnout) / 5700 rpm during run

Borrowed 70 GTQ turbo

100 Octane Gas W/methanol (ramped from 20 - 26 psi)

Front sway bar removed (Finally)

Front tires off the ground (FINALLY)

Pushed the oil dipstick about 3 inches up out of the tube (little bit of oil on the headers)

Max coolant temp = 169.5 degrees

1.5 sec. 60 ft and the cigarette lighter jumping off the dash and smacking me in the nuts...lol

And I'm still running rich as hell on the top end (9.70 - 10.23 A/F)

Maybe next time I can run C-16 without methanol & try to get a handle on the rich condition

No girdle, but thankfully I have two center steel main caps & a billet crank

I was talking to myself all the way down the track......PLEASE  no broken crank, no broken crank, no broken crank...lol

The time slip dude snatched my wrist band faster than $hit......I didn't even have to stop, he just held out a steel hook, threw in my time slip and hooked my wrist band at the same time...lol

Thats OK, It was worth $10.00 for the E-Ticket ride

The Bitch about it all though ....is I'm still slower than Nordy () and Brent is about ready to come back and whip the $hit out of my new times ......with my old engine block ()

Glad to hear your back under power Brent

Can't wait to see you back in action soon

I'm really glad that Lin was there to see me hit my new fastest time, otherwise she'd never believe the time slip was actually mine....and she'd accuse me of REALLY being out at a Ti*ty Bar with the guys.....lol

Mr Nordy was flying down the track in the 300ZX..........at right around a Zillion mph @ 87 lbs of boost on all 3 turbos, or something like that...lol

And as stated above, Kevin ran his GN twice, hit 7.4's each time with a new best mph of 94.....good job!

Thanks for all the kind words everyone

NOW that is what i'm talking about RAY.. 24psi launch   .. i would have been saying "don't break rear end, dont break".. TURN IT UP MORE when you have some C16 in the tank..

i wish i could have seen that wheels up shot :D ... but i did see you blow by me on the top end  ..

Good job KEVOLD:rolleyes:

heard he was getting a dual ball bearing gtq 72

****ps that wasn't ray, that was just me dreaming sorry. Ray's black devil car running 6.66 was pretty amazing to watch! I screamed out to the world "hit the brakes". But I guess ray didn't hear me and he went flying thru the trap @ 100mph plus :) Congratz to Ray again!

The Black Devil, should be your new cars name. XxdarksidexX

Who was saying Harold's car couldnt run 11's? Looks like a solid consistent contender to me. When he told me he ran the 11.7 a couple months back, I asked him all the numbers, and told him that car has an 11.2 in it if he can launch at 12-14psi, pull the swaybar and get a tiny bit of spin off the line. Should net mid to high 1.5 60's.
Harold- Turn up the alky turn on boost point a few psi (not pump pressure...the boost where it turns on), tune around it, and you can probably improve your 300 foot time alot. And keep in mind that more timing doesnt always equal a faster car. Spray a little wd-40 in both ends of your RJC valve and blow it out with compressed air on both ends. The ball/spring assembly should work better if its a little wet.

Ooo.. i forgot i had this on the camera last night..

Ray setting up the 12psi slicks for the blast down the track..

Beautiful! Nice feeling to be thrown off the track for going too fast.

Sweet

Ray way to go, I,m not ready do to all the required safety stuff and I used to have to do so and not willing to do any more. You know I am a senior citizen and of course I must set a example! (good or bad)

My old slug of a truck was not very fast, but I guess I should run the bracket. all six runs were less than a tenth of a second. Worst 8.61 and fives runs @ 8.58-8.54 not bad for a non GN!

Next time out I run the GN and put some fuel to it so that I MIGHT get in the 7s. (7.99) Sure sounds better than 8.00's But again I'm an old fart!

A poor excuse is better than none!

Great job now Ray! Now is the tme to put at least a 6 point bar and seat belts that must be replaced every two years even if the car sits for the two years that the belts are certified. What a wicked web we weave. Again a great job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I;m not sure wheather my old ticker could take that kind of past anymore!
