Is 78-82ish carburated turbo stuff worthless?

Yeah, that 9-1 is kinda high, but thats why my intentions are for low boost. Besides, I have no cars with lower compression. Remember, this is to educate me. I got a 350 Regal that needs to gain some power over the next few years. Experimenting on my LeSabre is a must cause the Regal has 10.25-1 pistons. You and someone else suggested the under carb set-up. I like that for space, and fabbing it will be fine for me. But aren't I in danger of one big hic-up outta the air horn if something is amiss? And how do you add a knock sensor to a car with no computer? Thanks!!!:D
