Is the sending unit, tank and fuel pump the same ? My car is a 87.... Gonna use a 84/85 unit.

I believe you will find a difference in the 84-85 and 86-87 sending unit. Can't remember for sure but I seem to recall a difference in the tubes on the exterior of the tank. If no one else chimes in call the Buick dealer in your area. May not be able to order either from them but they will still be able to tell you if they have different part numbers and if they are inner-changeable.

I put a complete 85 tank on my 87 with no problems, the only diff will be if you have a digital dash in one of the vehicles as the sending unit will be different.

wasn't the wiring in the plug different on the hot airs than the IC cars?
i seem to remember there being a different part number for the hotwire kit i put in my car a few years ago..

FYI You can also use a tank from a 4.3 FI v6. Mine is out of a '86 Monte Carlo.

where did the filler neck wind up on your car? from what i've read, the Monte filler neck sticks out a bit farther than a Regal neck does.

I never noticed a difference. Worked find for me even if it sticks out farther.
