Is a 6162 considered OLD??

My brother used to work at Precision and still has friends that work there. I think the advice I'm given on turbos from them is pretty accurate:

I had bought a 6162 last winter in preparation for a spring installation. Before we installed the turbo I had a rod bearing start making noise which launched my stoker build. So here I was with a new 6162 when the 6262 was introduced.

My bother (and others) informed me that the new turbo was worth making the upgrade from the 6162. By reading the specs I could see that the 6262 had a higher max horsepower. I new I wouldn't be maxing that turbo out right away so I was concerned about spool up. I was told that the 6262 spools up quicker than the 6162 providing more boost quicker.

I sold my 6162 and got the 6262 for a minimal cost. I still don't have it mounted in the car so I can't provide much feedback but I understand that 6262 to be a great advance for street turbo's.

That's the route I took!
