Is a early 80's gbody posi worth any thing?

I can get a early 80's regal station wagon with a posi in it. I know that it is not a 8.5 rear. I assume that it is 7.5 rear. Is it worth my time the to get and pull it? Is it the same as a Monte Carlo SS?

Depends on the gear ratio.

How can you tell what gear ratio is in it. I have the window sticker, but it doesn't have any ratio. Did they use a service parts label like the 1987's do.

The window sticker should have RPO codes. Most likely GU1 which is a 2.41 thru GU6 which is 3.42

The only G code is G80. It has a 265 V8 (4.3 litre) two barrel.

Mark the driveshaft, jack up the rear, put in neutral, spin both wheels together once (or more) and count how many times the driveshaft rotates (and divide by the number of wheels spins) .
