Before I re-install my engine, should I port the plenum or intake? If so, do I just gasket-match the openings? I'm installing a Powerplate too.

Port match the TB and plenum and trim the gasket. It's a little thing I guess, but it is a huge mismatch. Bell mouth the TB as shown in the recent GMHTP while you're at it. ;) Easy stuff.

I guess it depends on your goals and what your mods are currently.

Naturally, it's a mod that can't hurt anything, but with my largely street-driven car with mild bolt-ons, this board has told me that I probably won't realize any tangible gains in performance.

It's one of those things where if the part is off the car already, why not ;)

Jay Jackson

Jay Jackson does an awesome TB/plenum mod!

The stock TB is 58mm. Jay machines this out to a tapered bell-mouthed bore of 62mm/65mm, & installs a larger throttle blade.

Then, he matches the TB-to-plenum opening, & smoothes the plenum interior for better air flow.

His machine work is impeccable. His customer service is outstanding. And, he gets it back to you just a few days after you sent it to him!

Great guy---Great mod!

HTH :)
