I have read past posts but I am not clear on this.

Car all of a sudden developed a major stumbling problem. It started as I was accelerating at about 5psi. It won't run right at all now. The scanmaster shows code 34 MAF low or missing (no other codes). It idles poorly sometimes nearly stalling. Unplugged the MAF it still idles like crap. Plugged it back in and tried thumping it with the end of a pen and after a few clunks it stalled. I did this twice, same result.

With it plugged in the MAF readings seem wonky but not entirely out of whack. The car can barely get going. With MAF unplugged I can't get moving at all, the car shakes badly, I thought the car would drive with it unplugged.

I was confused to see MAF numbers going up and down at idle with the MAF unplugged, does the computer insert fake values there or something?

This is my first MAF problem so I am not 100% sure of what happens.

I know the experts here will know what is wrong.

Bad Maf, both of mine have done this when they went bad. So now im going to LS-1 maf and Translator!!.

Is it true then that you can't really drive it with the MAF unplugged? For some reason I always thought you could.

Take a close look at the screens inside the MAFs and see if they are still in right/straight...... HTH
