I finally got around to hooking up the ISAC controller I bought last December. But I'm having some problems getting it to power up. This testing is taking place without a motor in the car so I hooked up a battery to the 2 fuse links that feed the electrical system. I didn't hook up the ECM feed because I didn't want the fuel pump running (and I didn't know if it would damage the drivers with no engine sensors hooked up).

The problem the ISAC isn't powering up off of the switched 12 volt power. THe power wire is hot, the ground is good testing with a multi meter. I can power it off of the USB port and it appears that it's seeing the low level switch.

which wire are you powering, and which wire are you grounding?

Let me verify this when I get home Thursday but I'm pretty sure that the The two black wires in J3 are grounded. And pink/dk green is powered.

THere was 12V on the pump 1 wire brown/light green but that seemed OK since the ISAC applys a ground to activate the pump.

Pink/Dk Green is powered and has 12 V key on. Both Black wires on J3 are grounded. The brown/lg green is connected to the pump black wire and has 12 V key on (make sense to me since the pump is powered)

But it appears I have some wiring work to do as the grounds have 8 V on them key on.

the large grounds need to be connected to a good ground (the engine is best) as the pump power flows thru them.

Connect the small J1 ground to the engine also, as it needs to be grounded for best sensing of the signals.

So right now engine grounds are a problem since the Engine is across the river at the machine shop and the wires would be really long . I had the battery jumped to the casper's ground stretcher stud for testing. I thought that might work just to verify the install.

Maybe I just need to wait until it's back in the car.

you should be able to run it without the engine, but the main grounds for the ISAC are the large black wires in J3.

If you have power and ground on J3, you should be fine.

Found it. I didn't have the body ground strap hooked up. yea the ISAC was grounded to the Caspers stretcher but that wasn't grounded to the body so I had 8V between the body and Engine.
