You see the weirdest stuff in junkyards
I was in a yard once and spotted an 85 or so trans am, this was back when I was heavy into thirdgens so I walked over, saw the 5.0 FI decals on the rocker panels and knew it was a 305 TPI car. Interested in the TPI unit I popped the hood to check and found not a 305 TPI but an inline six that looked like it was straight out of the 1960s with a 1 barrel carburetor, rubber hose clamped from the stock fuel lines to the carb... you could see the motor mounts plain as day. I couldnt tell if they had to modify them to fit or anything like that. But it was the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen. They even ditched the electric fans and put a big ass clutch fan with no shroud.
