Finally got everything in and ready to start the new motor, turn the ignition on to hear the pumps and go figure ---gas leak at the filter and pump. get that all worked out--try to start, and yep u guessed it no start. Board member (Wrath) to the rescue and determines no power to the injector harness. One power wire later were back in business. Car starts up, but smokes and runs rough---way too rich. Wrath is stumped and really tired 1 a.m. by now---in comes my engine tuner who normally works midnights but happens to be off. He comes over plugs in to the DFI and finds that the 3 bar map sensor is getting 12 volts instead of 5 so its like the computer thinks the car is dumping enuff fuel for a 30# boost run as I tried to crank it. Temporary fix is done---now a 5 volts the car runs smooth no smoke, but a bit too rich (my eyes were burnin). So now Im thinking everything is cool --good oil pressure, temperature starts to climb and then I realize the cooling fans wont come on! At this point I shut down the car and drained the oil. This car is fighting me but I think this is a fight Im close to winning. That trip to Iowa is really lookin good for me now.
