You can call or write them to be absolutely what they mean, but, I suspect they are talking about the foam portion just inside the leather covering the bolster.

I'm certainly no expert, but my guess is the vinyl "fishgill" looking panels on either side of the upper cover. I bought some aftermarket covers (not leather) and they came minus those - that I am going to have to have a local upholsterer stitch to these covers.
