I am in the process of looking to buy a yamaha wave blaster from a fellow pilot, $1000 for a 1993 with a trailer...it has a few mods, riva pipe, intake plate, ride plate, intake filter, oil delete, and some other stuff...i rode it today and had a great time...

my question, does this sound like a good deal? it looks and runs good...he has owned and taken care of it for 9 years...previous to that the orig owner did most of the mods...

also, are there any good forums like this on the web...i did some searching and only found one...

TIA

That sounds like a very reasonable deal--also the yamaha is the probably the most reliable one of the bunch you can find.JUST BE PREPARED-------take this from someone who has owned several jet ski's since 1993-----------a 10 year old jet-ski will only be reliable for so long--see if the motor has been fogged after riding and see if it has been winterized during th off-season.I can't tell you the number of things that can go wrong with these things!

Also---find out if it has been fresh water ridden or salt-water:eek:

sounds like a good deal--but there are alot of things to consider.

A bit off topic here, but has anybody seen the new intercooled, turbocharged honda jet skis? According to the salesman at the local honda dealer, they can be tweaked to go 75 mph plus on smooth water, and have crazy acceleation. I smell a group purchase here!!!! :)

Be careful...

Hey Dan,

Hope the deal works out for ya. Just be careful with that... take it from somebody who "know's". :)

ghall what do you mean by FOGGED??? do you mean wash out with hose and fresh water while running after usage....cause yes, religiously! even in fresh water....

There is a fogging oil every major manuf. sells to coat the engine after riding. It is only like 5 bucks a can---and really worth it.No big deal if it hasn't been used(unless it's salt water ridden!!!!!!)--but if you buy it(the jet ski)---i would look into it.After riding---after you wash it out----just spray in air intake (or the top that covers the carbs)---spray until it chokes the motor and you are done----.
