I took my car to Pep Boys for a oil change, and they cracked my windshield Then the mechanic swore it was cracked when it came there. They never paid for it, but i saw that same mechanic at the local race track, and kicked his a#%! For once i got justice.

Physically kicked his ass? Did you initiate it? And did they press charges?

I have a friend of mine that complained to me that his a/c wasn't blowing cool...So I go over to have a look at it...Looked around under the hood, and noticed the electrical connector on the a/c compressor is unplugged...I asked him where was the last place he had his truck worked on at and he said ...you guessed it... Jiffy Lube ...bastards disconnected his a/c connector...This was right after they announced that they now service a/c's. So I plug the connector back in and the compressor cycles on and off and it is still blowing warm...Not only did they unplug the connector, they purged most of the 134a out of his system...It took a can and a half to refill it...I told him that if couldn't do the oil changes on his vehicles, at least take it to the dealership or a mechanic that he trusts to do it...

As a Chevy field rep, I had to "mediate" many such situations.
The dlr screwed the owner, who called Detroit, who made an "OR" report. We had to resolve them within 30 days, and submit writted report on the results.
Then, it came my turn.. My brand new Suburban had a roaring rear end..[500 mi]
Was first told "pretty much acceptable for a truck". NOT!
I paid ALOT of $ for this thing, and you ARE going to fix it.
Bottom line:
1. They "fixed it", and didn't even have the rear end cover off! Still had the "OEM dirt" on it, and no sign of oil being drained.
2. The punk S/M threatened me. [I don't "play well" when under threat.]
3. A call to the zone S/M, and the $hit hit the fan!!
4. The resulting fraud, [over $1500] got the stealership an audit. The cost?? Over $900K in repayment of phoney warranty claims. [Audits were part of my job, so I knew what would happen!!]
5. S/M "retired". You know, kinda like some of our inept generals do!

My wife would get mad when I would pay for an oil change anywhere, even if I did it myself. You see, she is (was) big into the "mystery shopping" when it came to oil changes. I think just about every MS oil change shop was with JL. She would submit a report and get the $$ back for the oil change and somtimes an extra $10 or $20.

Anyways she took her car there before Christmas to get the normal oil change etc and she would have to write down everyting they "upsold" her on. Corporate could care less how they treated the customers, just how many times the employees were suggesting what the customers needed fixed that really did not need fixing.

Anyways, the last time she did this they cracked the oil pan while installing the plug. She drives an Audi with an aluminum pan and they must have tightened it up with an impact. They paid for a rental car for a week. Best part is, enterprise rental would no longer rent to JL since they never paid thier bill (the JL DM said it was over billing disputes ) AND the guy from enterprise said I was the third one that month renting a car due to a problem with JL.

The gave me a ton of $10 off coupons and if anyone wants them let me know.

I think they got a passing score on the MS since they asked her 3 times if she wanted them to change her blinker fluid

I cant remember what year it was maybe 1992 or1994 when Inside Edition did the same thing to goodyear and midas. They had those guys on camera wiping down ignition wires wiping down timing covers and saying they replaced them. Anyone on long island probabaly heard of midas getting busted .They would pull wheel off car and pads looked like new. they were charging people for brake jobs that they were not doing.They arrested the techs and managers from like 5 differant shops for the same thing.My friend was a regional manager for midas at that time and was telling me about the $hit storm they started for midas

I only watched the first part of that video, but have to question the part where they said the fuel filter wasn't changed. They said you have to drop the tank to change it. I own a jeep grand cherokee and know for sure you do not have to drop the tank to change it. In fact I don't know of really any cars that require dropping the tank to change the fuel filter. I'm not sticking up for these places but have to question that??????

The one they showed had returnless system. The thing he marked was the filter. most new cars have returnless systems but they put the regulator right in the filter. But dodge and jeep put filter in top of sender some have a filter at bottom of sender that replaces strainer
