Hola,

Has anyone tried to modify their Hooker Headers for better sealing by welding on three bolt header reducers at all the connection points. Is it even worth trying to fix these ill fitting, ill sealing headers? I bought the car with these installed, so I do not have the stock manifolds to go back to. Also, does anyone have an example of these headers actually making their car faster?

Hookers are

bad news.

Get some Postons, which are the set most like the factory, ATR stainless tube type headers, Terry Houston's, or Mease Stainless steel.

Dump the Hooker set tho.

Yeah, you might want to trash the hookers. It's been my understanding for some time now that even if they seal well they offer less spool up and inferior performance to the stock header design. I've been running the Poston ceramic coated headers for the past several years and have been pleased with them. They would probably be your cheapest option unless you can locate some stock manifolds and have them welded to avoid the usual leaks. The Postons should perform about as good as anything out there too. Good luck.

Thanks for the advice, I may get the Postons. How fast would you have to be before the stock or Postons would become a hindrance?

There are many different numbers out there of when the stockers may limit performance. So far ive gonne 10.30s with stockers and i dont think they will hurt till that level.
