I was just GIVEN a 96 model LT1 engine by a friend of mine that's moving overseas. The car is or was a 96 Z28 before being rearended by something really big!! What's the chances of making it work in my 86 GN. I know, I know, it won't be the same but mine is in a million pieces in my garage right now. Just wondering how hard it would be to stuff this LT1 into my car. Has anybody done this or something similar?? I actually have the whole donor car for parts such as computer, wiring, brackets and all that jazz! The car still fires right up but is not driveable. What do you guys think????? Remember, I got the whole thing for FREE!! Can this be done?????????????????????????????

SuperSix,
My wife says we already have too many cars! Here's the list:
67 Mustang coupe restored, 68 Mustang convertible restored, 86 GN rebuild in progress, 99 Suburban Regency Conversion, 2000 Ram Air Trans Am, 1990 Acura Legend work car, and 93 Acura Integra 17 year old son's car. I really don't think she'll let me buy another one! Besides, I'm all out of driveway. But I'll ask around to see if anybody's interested. Send me more detail on the car if you still have it.

SuperSix,
Never mind my request for more details, I found your ad after I sent the other reply, oops! Like I said I can't use it but I'll still ask around, looks like a good project car!

It would be an awful lot of work for a car less desirable then both original cars. I would guess that your best bet would be to sell the drivetrain, and use that to finance your current project(GN).

I agree, sell it It would be 100% profit, the best kind and you might be surprised how much you would get especially being a complete setup. Then stuuf that cash into the GN:D
