anyone else run one? these things are rock solid...I have many friends using them. I'll let you guys know the skinny after i install it.

Here's the skinny...30 min. install. I mounted the stepper motor box on the valve cover where the stock wg sol. is. Same bolt.
Ran controller in the car...+ and -...drive.
I ran a Turbo XS man. boost controller before...spooled way faster than ecm controlled. The HKS spools almost twice as fast as the TurboXS man controller. Literally, the TE44 with this on a stock converter spools way faster than the stock turbo did on the Turbo XS manual controller.
You have a A and a B setting...race gas or no race gas was my intention for the other setting. This thing rocks...serieously. I was a fan of HKS from my import days...I never had one of their boost controllers though.

?

how is the variable boost control? Otherwords from 1st to 2nd to 3rd & 4th. I hear it gives progressive control. Let us know.

I don't think this piece does this...it's a solid boost setting in each gear. My maual controller would let more boost come on in second and third. This one is the exact same in every gear.
you have two presets.

Is the stock type wastegate used with the unit?
Where did you purchase it from?

Bought it local, Polk Performance in Bryant AR.
Tell him you saw my post on Turbobuick, if you want to get it from Don.

HD internal gate (bought from Precision for the TE44) is what I currently use. I can take it down to 14 psi. Nice. You can use it with internal or external gates (switch on back of unit). You can also control multiple gates with it. Seriously, this is the mack-daddy of boost controllers.

I could take pics if you guys need them...

price.

How much does a controller like that cost? Also how does it compare to the RJC controller I'm wondering considering it's only 50 bucks

I'll put the $60 TurboXS controller I HAD up against the RJC any day. Basically the same thing (not saying that one is better, I'm just saying that they are the same). The HKS unit is ballpark $400. It's night and day between the man. controller and you can be fat and lazy like me and sit in the car. The fact that boost is the same in all gears and absolutely rock solid with a race gas tune and a street gas tune...I'm eat up with it. It spools so much faster man.
